The hedge fund manager doesn’t look like you or me. He rarely sleeps. He eats extremely poorly and then extremely well. His clothes are Eddie Bauer and Armani. He may live in a small dive or a mansion along the coast; he vacations on yachts in the Mediterranean.
The hedge fund manager lives this lifestyle because his job is to manage the money of the incredibly rich, and, as we all know, the super rich are different from you and me. Specifically, when it comes to investing, what these gazillionaire investors want is the right to do what they want with their money without government interference. Well, they made their case to the powers that be and they prevailed. Thus, hedge fund managers pretty much do what they want.
What is it that they do exactly? If i could tell you, I’d be one.
